The Destination Management Plan (DMP) sets out the tourism priorities for 2007/8 for Greater Manchester.
Building on the aims and objectives in 'Destination Manchester', the sub-region's five-year strategy, the document represents the key areas that Manchester seeks to focus on over the coming twelve months - and beyond.
The DMP was produced through a consultation process involving the Greater Manchester tourism strategy steering group, established to oversee the effective delivery of Manchester's five year tourism strategy.
There are eight priority areas for action including developing the Manchester Brand, supporting the Knowledge Capital initiative, focusing on business tourism and generally improving the tourism product of Manchester and its promotion nationally and internationally.
Manchester will update its Destination Management Plan on an annual basis.
